Is your horse 'acting out' - or are they just responding to your hidden body tension?

A holistic 12-week program blending equine osteopathy, rider biomechanics, and mindset coaching to unlock absolute synergy under saddle.

Your horse is your mirror.

We've all hear it before. "He's just being naughty, use more leg, kick him through it."

Or we've said it before. "He hates that corner so we don't go there", "He's just crooked, that's the way he is."

But what if the problem isn't that your horse is 'naughty', 'lazy' or 'weird'? What if it was that your horse simply is unable to move the way you are asking? What if he is trying to answer the question you are asking, but he has to work against something?

Most of the time your horse will do well if he is able. What does this mean?

Perhaps you are leaning left consistently, which makes bending left very difficult for your horse? Perhaps you tense up as you approach the 'spooky' corner, effectively creating the spooky response you are trying to avoid?

Osteopathic manual therapy aims to alleviate tension and restrictions that effect movement and comfort. However manual therapy alone will not cure all problems if the problem is being created every ride.

A good riding instructor will be able to see how your body and position are impacting your horse.

Always sitting to far to the right? No wonder you have trouble getting a certain lead...

Meet Your Architect

My name is Emily and I have been in love with horses my entire life. I grew up at horse farms, learning everything I could. I have grown personally and professionally within the confines of horse farms, professional and private, horse shows, lessons and clinics. Not only did my equine knowledge grow over the last 30 years, but so did my understanding of how horses move, think and work with humans.

I have been teaching horse back riding for more than 20 years now and have found a gap in rider education. So often are we teaching riders how to accomplish a task on their horse, but very seldom do we teach the why. Even more seldom do we stop to watch, listen and recognize how the rider is impacting their horse, and what patterns or responses are being created.

I became an Equine and Canine Osteopath to help horses and dogs feel good and allow their bodies to heal themselves.

Now, I am combing those skills to help both horse and rider.

By addressing both parts of the team, I can help the horse find relief and move better and help the rider find confidence and balance.
