Remote Assessments

Wellness Support, No Travel Required

Not every horse or dog lives within my normal working radius — and not every owner can fit a full in-person session into their budget right now. Remote consultations bring the same thoughtful, whole-body perspective to you, wherever you are.

Using a live video call, I can evaluate your animal's movement, gear fit, and environment in real time, then offer clear, practical guidance you can put to use right away.

How It Works

  1.  1. Submit a Request to Book:

    1. -Emily will connect with you to schedule an appointment. Plan on 45 minutes for the appointment.

  2.  Email a Few Photos and Videos: IMPORTANT - the below images and videos are of your natural horse, no tack or rider, and should be no older than 2 weeks before your appointment.

    1. Before your call, send over the following items:

    2. 4 simple conformation photos(showing left, right, front and back), or a short video of your animal standing as square as possible.

    3. A video of your horse walking in a straight line directly away from you and then back to you.

    4. A video of your horse trotting in a straight line directly away from you and then back to you.

    5. A video of your horse walking past you in a straight line to the right, then back to the left (we are getting the side view of the horse in walk, from both sides).

    6. A video of your horse trotting past you in a straight line to the right then back to the left (we are getting the side view of the horse in trot from both sides).

    7. A video of your horse trotting on a circle to the left, then to the right.

    8. Images or a video tour of your animal's environment -

      1. For horses please include: the stall, paddock, run in shed, friends, working area, etc. Include any areas of concern as well as behaviors you can catch on camera.

      2. For dogs please include: living space, sleeping space, outdoor space, eating space, etc. Include any areas of concern as well as behaviors you can catch on camera.

    9. OPTIONAL: If there is a specific action or transition that you feel is a problem, please get a video of this as well. (ex. Transition to trot from walk on a circle to the left, jumping a crossrail, etc).

  3. IMPORTANT: If there are specific mounted work concerns, please provide videos of those behaviors as well.

  4. Jump on a Live Video Call:

    1. We'll meet over Google Meet to walk through what I'm seeing — gait, posture, gear fit, and environment — and talk through what it may mean for your animal's comfort.

    2. Then, we will discuss next steps for your animal.

What We Can Look At Together

  • General movement and gait patterns

  • Saddle, bridle, or gear fit

  • Environmental factors (footing, living space, daily routine)

  • Areas of tension or asymmetry you've noticed at home

  • Simple, at-home comfort and mobility support

As with all of my services, remote consultations are wellness-based and educational. They are not a substitute for veterinary care and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or rehabilitate injury or medical conditions. If your animal shows signs of pain, lameness, or illness, please have them seen by a licensed veterinarian.

What You'll Need

  • A smartphone, tablet, or computer with Google Meet

  • A quiet, well-lit space to show your animal moving or standing

  • A few clear photos of tack, gear, or the area in question (sent prior to the appointment)

No special equipment required — just a decent internet connection and a little daylight.

FAQs

  • Do you need to see my animal in person to help? Not always. Many gait, posture, and gear concerns can be assessed clearly over video, especially when paired with good photos and a short movement clip.

  • Is a remote consultation the same as an in-person session? It's a different format, not a replacement. Remote consultations are a great option when distance, cost, or scheduling make an in-person visit difficult — and they can also be a helpful first step before booking a full session.

  • Will I get anything to keep afterward? Yes — after our call, I'll send a follow-up summary of what we discussed and any recommendations, so you have something to reference at home.

  • What if you notice something that needs veterinary attention? I'll always let you know and recommend a veterinary evaluation when something falls outside the scope of wellness bodywork.

All services are non-veterinary and intended for general wellness purposes only. I do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe for any medical condition. For injury, lameness, illness, or health concerns, clients must consult with a licensed veterinarian. Bodywork is provided in collaboration with veterinary care when appropriate.
