Multi-State Animal Bodywork Policy

 MULTI-STATE SERVICE POLICY
(Non-Veterinary Animal Bodywork Services)

SCOPE OF SERVICES

All services provided are non-veterinary and wellness-based. Bodywork sessions are intended to support general comfort, relaxation, mobility, and overall well-being in animals.

Services do not include the diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation of any medical condition, injury, disease, or lameness.

VETERINARY CARE REQUIREMENT

Clients are responsible for ensuring their animal is under appropriate veterinary care. Any animal experiencing pain, lameness, injury, illness, or behavioral changes suggestive of discomfort must be evaluated by a licensed veterinarian.

Bodywork related to any known or suspected medical condition is provided only with veterinary knowledge, referral, or approval, as appropriate to state regulations.

VETERINARIAN COLLABORATION

The practitioner supports a collaborative approach to care and will communicate with licensed veterinarians when appropriate and with client consent.

In jurisdictions where required or where a condition is present, veterinary referral or approval must be obtained prior to services.

NO DIAGNOSIS OR TREATMENT

The practitioner does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or provide medical opinions. Observations made during sessions are non-medical and are shared solely to support client awareness and communication with their veterinarian.

LIMITATION OF SERVICES

Services are limited to non-invasive, hands-on bodywork intended for wellness purposes. If, at any time, the practitioner believes an animal may require veterinary attention, services may be paused or declined until appropriate veterinary evaluation is obtained.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

Clients agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete health information
• Disclose any known injuries, illnesses, or veterinary recommendations
• Seek veterinary care when indicated
• Follow all applicable state laws regarding animal care

ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND LIABILITY

Working with animals carries inherent risks. By engaging in services, the client accepts full responsibility for their animal’s behavior and condition and agrees to hold harmless the practitioner from any claims, damages, or injuries, except in cases of gross negligence.

MULTI-STATE COMPLIANCE

Services are provided in accordance with applicable state laws governing the practice of veterinary medicine. Where state regulations vary, the practitioner adheres to the most conservative standard, including requiring veterinary involvement for any condition-related work.

RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE

The practitioner reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if: • The animal presents a safety risk
• A condition appears to require veterinary care
• The request falls outside the practitioner’s legal scope

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By engaging in services, the client acknowledges understanding that animal bodywork is not veterinary medicine and does not replace licensed veterinary care.

All services are provided within a wellness-based scope and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

All services are non-veterinary and intended for general wellness purposes only. I do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe for any medical condition. For injury, lameness, illness, or health concerns, clients must consult with a licensed veterinarian. Bodywork is provided in collaboration with veterinary care when appropriate.
