Hello
My name is Emily Ethier, CESMT, Int’l Dip. EO, CO, AO
I help New England’s dogs and horses find their balance.
🐴🐶 After 30 years in the industry, I realized that "explosive" or "difficult" behavior is often a silent cry for physical relief. At Integrated Animal Osteopathy, I use specialized manual bodywork to address the root causes of tension, movement concerns and systemic distress.
My approach is rooted in careful observation, refined touch, and an understanding of how the body organizes itself through movement and compensation.
Drawing from osteopathic principles, I work with the body as an integrated whole—where patterns of tension, posture, and use influence overall comfort and mobility.
Sessions are unhurried and responsive, allowing each animal the space to process and respond in their own time. The intention is not to force change, but to support the body in finding greater ease.
This work exists within a wellness scope. I do not diagnose or treat injury or disease, and I encourage veterinary involvement whenever health concerns are present.

My Story
I started riding horses when I was 6 years old. The phase never ended. I started in a hunter equitation barn, dabbled in dressage, jumpers, and eventually found my true love, eventing. Through the many decades of my equestrian journey, I was introduced to many different ways of training and caring for horses. As I grew, so did my experiences with different types of horses.
The thing that sticks out the most when I look back at where I started is the ability I discovered and honed to sense what a horse was feeling. It wasn't until I was studying to become an osteopath that I realized not everyone can feel the emotions around them. Who knew!
I discovered that the energy I was feeling from the people and animals around me gave me valuable insight into what those beings needed from me.
While I was becoming the horsewoman I am today, I was also working with dogs. Having grown up with at least one dog in my home, I couldn't imagine a life without a dog to greet me when I walked in the door every day. I have dabbled in obedience and agility training, working with beginners under my superior and working with my own dogs.
I fully believe that we are all meant to fulfill a purpose during our brief stay on earth, and I am profoundly grateful that I found mine. Becoming an animal osteopath has opened up my eyes, mind, and heart to the countless possibilities of how my purpose can help the animals around me.
I would be thrilled to work with you and your animal and bring them peace and comfort.
